Dude

Wanted to throw this up for fun. My pal Larry Moore and I went surfing this week in Cocoa Beach and had a great time of it. This was a good year for waves, with the hurricanes which swept past Florida creating the late summer swells. September is a time where the crowds are gone and the water is warm and life, as an artist/surfer in Florida isn’t all that bad. Please check out Larry’s site at www.larrymoorestudios.com and if you’re looking for a great Plein Air artist to take a workshop with, I would highly recommend checking out his schedule.  -Peter

The painting, titled “Primal River” will be made available during a silent auction at the organizations 10th annual Oyseter Roast in Jacksonville, FL on November 18th.  Tickets available at their website.

Backus Museum Exhibit

Florida landscape painter Peter Pettegrew was recently invited to exhibit his plein air inspired paintings at the Backus Museum, located in Ft. Pierce, Florida. A.E. Backus was one of Florida’s primere painters who’s work later inspired a group of black artists which later became known as the Florida Highwaymen.
