Commission Process

In the next few posts, Peter will demonstrate the anatomy of his commission process as it happens on a painting he is currently working on. The subject is the view from the Osteen Bridge, which was requested by a collector who enjoys it’s sweeping view of the St. John’s river. You will see it develop from sketches to a finished oil on canvas.

Can you paint chrome?

As the Wekiva Paintout was wrapping up this year, Peter recieved an unusual request from the bar manager of Wekiva Island. He wondered if a landscape artist could paint chrome. More of a challenge than anything, Peter took on the project. What resulted is a beautifully rendered “portrait” of Brent’s Harley within the setting of the Wekiva Island property.

The Wekiva Paintout was more fun than ever this year, with an excellent lineup of incredible artists all painting on location together for the entire week. Pictured is Peter finishing up a small plein air painting during a quiet moment at the Wekiva Island bar. Thanks to Bill and Marysue Weinaug for continuing the event and carrying on what has now become a local tradition.

Painting the Piano

Peter spent several days at Wekiva Island www.wekivaisland.com working on a charity project to paint a paino which will later be auctioned. Pictured with Peter is highly aclaimed Florida landscape artist, Tom Sadler. Several more artists will also be adding their inspiration to the piano, which will be on display during the Wekiva Paintout www.wekivapaintout.com from March 5th through the 11th.
